HandsOff
An internal-use web dashboard developed for HandsOn Hong Kong to keep track of important data through visualisation using React and Firebase
HandsOff is an internal-use dashboard for HandsOn Hong Kong, an NGO that connects other NGOs to their large volunteer base.
During my participation in the JP Morgan Code For Good 2020, we talked to Ms. Lin from HandsOn and she told us about the excessive time she spent on manual tasks due to the lack of automation features in Salesforce. We sought to build a dashboard that would consolidate and aggregate her data, into easy-to-view graphs and charts, as well as allow her to keep track of and manage upcoming and past events.
The entire database back-end is stored on Firebase and accessed directly through the React App. The data can very easily be updated on Firebase by uploading Salesforce-generated Excel sheets into our interface, allowing this dashboard to be a useful, personalized extension to the current CMS infrastructure.

Users can keep track of events through our easy to use calendar, and can easily generate relevant data visualization for the event to later post on social media or include in their event reports. Additionally, for future events, the user may generate a list of best-fit volunteers and send them a mass email inviting them to take part in the upcoming event.

Lastly, we generate long-term trends based on aggregated data for HandsOn's annual reports. These graphs highlight important demographic statistics, and provide meaningful insight towards what events the current volunteer base could cater to best, and scope for diversity improvement, etc.
